When you think of seeing your name in big bright lights, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Close your eyes and picture a life of fame and fortune. What would yours look like? What would it cost you to have both at the highest level? Sacrifice.
Imagination is the ignition to greatness. When you hop out of the booth after you’ve laid a dope song, your dopamine levels are raised. What’s dopamine? Dopamine is a chemical messenger inside of your brain. It’s a neurotransmitter. It’s your brain’s happy place. It boosts your mood, motivates you, and makes you feel good when you experience any type of pleasure. For instance, when you get likes or love on social media, that boosts your dopamine levels. We like to be rewarded and recognized. It’s the “feel good” hormone. We like to chase that feeling! You can have high and low levels of dopamine. Too much or too less of anything regarding our brain cells can harm us. If your “likes and shares” aren’t doing numbers fast enough your dopamine levels can drop, causing a lack of focus, sadness, anxiety and even depression. Don’t let it, just keep going. Consistency will get you where you need to be…at your happy place…the dream come true! If you aren’t getting likes, understand everybody won’t like everything you do anyway. Be fine with that.
